Nanthakumar Jinenthirapirakash - Sri Lanka

NanthakumarNanthakumar Jinenthirapirakash (Jinesh) is an undergraduate student at the Eastern University of Sri Lanka, and is studying English Literature, Economics, and Political Science. Apart from studying at the Eastern University, he has also followed courses in social harmony, disaster management, and humanitarian law. Furthermore, Jinesh is a member of the “Helping Hands” organization in his hometown, Batticaloa. Jinesh identifies scarcity as a major factor driving many issues from which violence and conflict emerge in communities. Therefore, a major element of his work is building a balance of opportunity for everyone, in order to build a lasting peace.

Nanthakumar Jinenthirapirakash is from Batticaloa, which is located in the Eastern Province of SriLanka, a region that was heavily affected by the civil war in Sri Lanka. Having witnessed war and ethnic dscirimination first hand, Jinesh is committed to contributing to build up a peaceful community.
